DC Srinagar chairs DRAC meeting; Clears 25 pending cases

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 02: In order to finalize hiring rates of various rented accommodations hired by different Government Departments, a meeting of District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad at Meeting Hall of DC Office complex, here.

Besides, Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Gulzar Shabnum, the meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer R&B, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer and other concerned.

The Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of the Committee, held a detailed discussion with the Officers of the concerned Departments regarding the Rent Assessment cases submitted before the Committee.

During the meeting, total 29 cases were discussed by the Committee pertaining to various Government Departments including Education, Animal Husbandry, Handicraft, Social Welfare, Industries, Health, Horticulture, National Child Labour, Child Development, FCS&CA, Stationary & Office Supplies.

On the occasion, the Committee approved the rents for 25 cases out of a total 29 cases put forth before the Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure that Government buildings are prioritized for official accommodation and rented buildings remain the last option.
