Says contradictory, confusing messages circulated creating panic

Rehan Showkat

Srinagar, May 6: (GNS) Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has directed all top, middle and lower-rung medical officers in the Division to instruct sub-ordinate staff to desist from media interactions, cautioning that any contravention to the directions will warrant disciplinary action.

A circular floated by the Directorate headed by Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, of which a copy is in possession of Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS), said that all Chief Medical Officers/Medical Superintendents/Block Medical Officers of Kashmir Division are enjoined upon to issue instructions to all the staff under their administrative domain to desist from media interactions, as it has been seen that ‘contradictory and confusing messages’ are being circulated, which according to the Director ‘misinforms the public and creates un-necessary and avoidable panic.’

Strict disciplinary action will be initiated against anyone indulging in such behavior and shall further report of any disregard of these instructions by any officer/official to this office (DHSK) also, it states further. (GNS)
