Express gratitude towards GoI, UT Administration for J&K Domicile Law

  Jammu, May 22: A joint delegation of members of various institutions and a delegation West Pakistan Refugees Action Committee today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan.

They expressed their gratitude and thanked Government of India and J&K UT Administration for the introduction of new Domicile Law in J&K.

The joint delegation led by Purushottam Dadhichi (RSS) comprising of Prabhat Singh (Sanatan Dharam Sabha); Arun Chowdhry (Arya Samaj); Abhinav Sharma (President Bar Association, Jammu); Lalit Mahajan (Industrial Association); Pankaj Jain (President Jain Sabha); Jang Bahadur (President Valmiki Sabha); Ved Prakash (Brahman Sabha); Narayan Singh (Former President, Rajput Sabha); Amita Sharma (President, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu); Vikram Gujral (Art of Living) and Dr Jaswant Singh (Rashtriya Sikh Sangat)discussed with the Lt Governor about various welfare issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and also submitted their suggestions and recommendations on several developmental issues.

They said that the people of J&K have high expectations from the present dispensation and lauded the UT Administration for taking effective measures at all fronts in meeting those expectations.

A delegation of the West Pakistan Refugees Action Committee led by its President, Labha Ram Gandhi apprised the Lt Governor about various welfare issues of West Pakistan Refugees including reservation in employment, land rights, extension of date of JKCET entrance application forms etc.

The Lt Governor observed that the new Domicile Law will ensure equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir, besides safeguarding the rights of all residents of J&K.
