Teetwal, April 3 (GNS): Two houses suffered massive damage due to landslide at Teetwal, Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The residential houses belonging to Zameer Ahmed son of Lal Din and Shakeel Ahmed son of Abdul Rehman, of Gundi Gujran village of Teetwal block of Karnah, were heavily damaged while as four other houses suffered minor damages.

Locals said the landslides and continuous rains and melting snow have loosened the soil thereby endangering several houses in the areas like Panjtara, Taad and Gundi Gujran.

“We are scared of sleeping in our houses at night,” they told GNS.

The locals have appealed the administration to make speedy assessment of the damages and take necessary mitigation measures to prevent further damages due to continuous landslides in the area. (GNS)
